Les Deux Alpes is a lively and colourful area situated in the Dauphine region of the Southern French Alps. It has an excellent reputation for being one of the most affordable skiing and après ski resorts. It is a great destination for your single parent holidays. You won't just like it, you'll love it. With an impressive snow record and above average sunshine to put you in the mood, Les Deux Alpes has over 200km of pistes and areas to suit all levels of skier and snowboarder.

The spacious nursery slopes at village level and an excellent array of easy runs on the glacier provide plenty of variety for beginners. Intermediates can enjoy the versatility of the resort with both sunny skiing and long runs in the trees down to the picturesque villages below. There is a huge thumbs up for the resort's efficient lift system which allows experts to chase the abundant and demanding off piste action. The snow park for snowboarders and freestylers is a top attraction and the "showtime kicker", at nearly 4 metres, provides the ultimate challenge. Mere mortals can look on from La Toura restaurant with its sunny terrace.

Les Deux Alpes is a lively village and one of the oldest resorts in France. You'll find there's a wide choice of bars and restaurants along the resorts main streets that will suit all pockets and tastes - including the Tribeca Bar and Restaurant or The Windsor Pub.

Popular attractions include an outdoor ice ring and two sports centres.

Hotel facilities

Chalethotel Bérangère

South facing and situated in a superb position at the foot of the slopes with an unimpeded view over the surrounding mountains, the Chalethotel Bérangère is about comfort, space and light, making it a great place to take holidays for single parents.

Most bedrooms are large and well furnished, with good-sized bathrooms and sun trap balconies. All bedrooms have TVs with English channels to view. The living areas are quiet with inviting seating areas around the fire or enjoy a drink in the bar lounge before or after dinner. The restaurant is smart and stylish, offering plenty of space for quiet corners or large groups. Whatever your choice, linger over your meal and savour the atmosphere. Breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner with complimentary wine is included in your single parent holiday price.

Relaxing at the chalethotel is extremely easy with its sauna and heated indoor swimming pool at lower ground level.

On the same level there is our Viva Health and Beauty Salon offering a full menu of massage and beauty treatments - just what is needed after a hard day's skiing.

Accommodation

There are a total of 63 rooms comprising:
Single/bunk - 1 single bed with pull down bunk (no WC). Sleeps 1 adult.
Double/single - 1 small double bed.
Double - 1 double bed (some double rooms can take an extra bed).
Double & bunk - Double room with en-suite bathroom interconnecting with a bunk room. Bunk room has en-suite shower room, but no WC.
Twin - Twin beds, (some twin rooms can take an extra bed). Some twins can interconnect to doubles.
Interconnecting - Either 2 twins or 1 twin & 1 double interconnecting. Can take extra bed and cot.
Quad - Double bed plus single bed in separate room. Takes extra bed. (Please note only the double room has an external entrance door.)
Suite - 2 rooms, a double room, and the second has pull down double & single sofa bed. Suitable for 2 adults.

What's included in your single parent holiday

Return charter flights and transfers - we can offer Gatwick, Heathrow, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester. Other regional airports maybe available for certain departures. Please ask.

Double/twin room for use by your family

Half-board accommodation - we provide a cooked breakfast and afternoon tea each day and dinner on 6 evenings. There is a choice of menu at dinner, or a buffet on one or two nights. Wine is included. On the hosts' night off we try out one or two of the local restaurants, at your own expense.

Ski hosting - this varies by resort and is available at 2 levels (Not suitable for beginners). Les Deux Alpes has 4½ days. All subject to availability.

Prices are all 'from' and subject to chnages (up and down) due to offers and availability so please do call or email us for full details. They are based on1 adult and 2 children under 12 per room. Other room occupancies are available.

Children's facilities

This hotel and resort offers a wide range of facilities for families, making this an ideal choice for parents looking for single parent holidays.

Skiing as a family is fantastic fun but can be hard work too. That's why we provide a variety of childcare options to fit your choice of holiday, your children's age range and their ski ability.

The creches are bright, warm and bursting at the seams with toys to keep our younger guests happy.  All creches are fully equipped with essentials such as: sleep area with cots for daytime naps, bottle sterilisers, fridges and potties! There are also 24-hour kitchen facilities for parents needing to make up night and early morning bottles. All our creches are fully staffed with British nannies - all of whom are top notch and hold either an NNEB, DCE, NVQ qualification, or have at least 2 years' relevant childcare experience.

Our crèches open at 9am daily allowing you to join the ski host groups or just get out on to the slopes early. For children that are booked into our childcare and who are also booked into ski school - then our nannies will escort the children to ski school and collect them after their lesson. The nannies will ensure all children are happy and settled into their class before leaving and will return to collect them for lunch or tea depending on ski school schedule. At the end of the day it's back to the chalethotel for tea. Please note that Mark Warner nannies can drop/collect children at alternative ski schools to those recommended by Mark Warner as long as the schools are running on similar times (not the Berangere or Tarentaise)

Children's Mealtimes
Our Chefs and Childcare Managers work closely together to ensure that the meals we produce are appealing to children, nutritious and tasty. If your child has any special dietary requirements (we provide vegetarian options among our choices) or allergies, please inform the Childcare Manager on arrival or when booking your holiday.

Breakfast - Children to be supervised by parents
Lunch - Children booked into childcare & lunching at the chalethotel are supervised by the childcare team
High Tea - At 5pm a supervised high tea is served to the younger children
Early Dinner - During school holidays, an early dinner is served at 7pm

Free Evening Drop in Creche
We run a FREE evening "drop-in" crèche for children from 4 months to 12 years, which is available every evening from 7.30pm to 11pm (closed on Sundays). Simply drop your children off at the crèche, where our nannies will provide storytime, DVD showing and quiet games leaving you to dine in the restaurant at your leisure.
If you'd rather your child stayed in your room, we can arrange babysitting at an extra charge. This has to be booked in resort and is depedent on staff availability.
