Gulet facilities

The gulets have reliable engines for easy cruising no matter what way the wind blows.  But we know how much fun it is to put up the sails and hear the water race under the keel, so the captain will ‘sail’ the gulet on at least two days in the week (conditions permitting).

Below decks are the 6 cabins - double or twin bedded cabins, each with its own porthole, tiny shower and wc. The majority are double or twin bedded: call us to discuss the best cabin options for your family, which may include booking a gulet with cabins that can squeeze in an extra bunk bed (not available on all dates).

This means that each gulet usually accommodates up to 12 in total, to create an intimate houseparty atmosphere.  As well as the canoe and snorkelling kit, the gulet has a few board games and packs of cards for family challenges.

Buoyancy aids are available for every passenger and should be worn when the crew recommend.

Gulet single parent holiday cruise route

Our normal route is from Fethiye across Gocek Bay and around the coast past Dalyan (shore stop if requested), towards Marmaris. The coastline is indented with dozens of bays, some hiding little fishing villages, others unreachable except by boat, so that the return journey to Fethiye will be just as much fun.

Marmaris is a large busy tourist resort, so during our stop here you can explore for a few hours and shop for souvenirs and sweets.

What’s included in your Single parent holiday

Prices are based on direct flights from the UK (many regional airports are available), and include transfers (approx 60 minutes), accommodation in a double/twin cabin - and all local taxes

Full board is provided, with the emphasis on fresh local food.  Breakfast is continental, with bread and honey or jam, plus cold meat, cheese and olives and tea and coffee.  A simple two-course lunch - eg pasta or moussaka - is followed by fruit and afternoon tea is also served. 

Dinner is typically chicken or fresh fish with vegetables or salad and couscous as well as a local dessert.  Wine is not included with meals, but the bar is reasonably priced (Turkey is not in the €urozone!) and you can settle your drinks bill at the end of the week.

Children's facilities

While the minimum age for this holiday is six, we do feel that this is best suited to older children.  We hope it goes without saying that everyone on board needs to be able to swim with confidence. 

When the gulet is anchored, there’s plenty of time to swim, snorkel and paddle the on-board canoe (under your supervision).

Sandy coves provide opportunities for beach-combing, sand-castle building and generally playing desert island games.

Some board games are available, but do bring your own favourites to occupy sailing time.  There is also a TV with DVD player – so bring a few DVDs to share – a perfectly-timed distraction allowing you to relax with a drink after dinner!
